Seeing Everything In Black And White
Today's image is a follow-up to yesterday's shot. I had to nip out again for some food shopping which I forgot to get yesterday so I decided to return to West Malling determined to find out more about the house in yesterday's blip.
Today's shot was taken from the bottom of the same street as yesterday with this row of wonderfully duochromatic cottages and the end of the house in yesterday's image at the top of the frame. I couldn't believe my luck (this has been a recurring theme lately!) when the lady dressed in black with white hair strolled past, she was perfectly co-ordinated with the background!
As I continued my walk I managed to spot a plaque on the side of the building in yesterday's image and discovered it's called The Priors House. So when I got back home and looked it up I discovered it's Grade II* listed, over 500 years old and had once been the site of a leper hospital. Apparently even the bollards outside the cottages are listed! I'm now quite partial to a bit of historical detective work! :-)
