Avril's Shoes

Today's the day .......................... to reminisce

Avril brought a dress - and these shoes - into the shop today.  She had worn them back in the early 70s and she thought that we might like to see them.

Well, of course, we did and it set off a whole load of reminiscing about what we used to wear back in the day - and how we all thought we looked the bees-knees in them.  I know I had a long, purple, maxi-coat with buttons right down the front and leg-of-lamb sleeves that I used to wear a lot.  I never had platform shoes like this (I was quite tall enough already?!) - but I did have long white (plastic?) boots.

It was an exciting time for fashion - so different from what had come before - and exciting to be part of it all.  The thing that's difficult to come to terms with is that it was fifty years ago now .......................!
