June 2

One of the jobs we worked on today. The client wanted some changes made in the front garden to get more color there. The evergreen shrubs that were planted along the walkway might have looked good 10 years ago, but now they were too big for the space. The shrubs that had been planted in front of the house were not growing well, plus they had been planted too close to the foundation. We are attempting to save one of them, the spruce was moved around the corner of the house. The client had bought a couple of shrubs so they were planted today after we widened the bed and put some fresh soil down. I will pick up some more shrubs and perennials this weekend and next.
More of the evacuees were allowed to return home this afternoon, including my friend who has been sleeping in her car.. It has been raining lightly this evening, since about 7:30 pm. I just looked at the radar and there is supposed to be heavier rain overnight. They were also able to take busloads of homeowners in to view their damaged homes today.
A plant sale in the valley tomorrow, and I am going to leave early so I am there when it opens at 9 am. Last year I arrived at 9:15 and many of the plants had already sold out.
