Today's the day ....................... to play Jazz

The annual Kirkcudbright Jazz Festival is on in town at the moment - 'a celebration of New Orleans, Dixieland and Swing Jazz in the southwest of Scotland'. 

It's a far cry from the first Jazz Festival, that took place over a Friday evening and Saturday, at one venue, during September 1997.  Now events are spread over four days, in multiple venues - and the standard of performance is high.  We took the girls to hear The Lazy River Jazz Band this afternoon - and they loved it.  There's really nothing to beat listening to live music on a sunny, summer day.

These two above appeared on the top of a postbox recently to advertise the Festival - and immediately got into the swing of things .................!
