Diary of an Edinburgher

More holiday news!

Another HOT day, all day. Almost a heatwave!

Hazel came over, brown as a berry, to catch up about her 'fly'n'flop' holiday.
I took Archie round the block, and it was already very hot - he's not keen to go far, and neither am I.

Later, I took the bus to the hospital for an ECG. I've no idea who ordered it, as the last medical professional I spoke to said my heart and lungs were 'very healthy'... my doctor is going to ring tomorrow, so all might become clear.

I set off in plenty of time for a bus that would get me there in plenty of time. But it didn't come. And didn't come. I really HATE being late for an appointment, and wouldn't you know, there seemed to be lots of people getting on and off the entire way. I was not happy. Every other time (lots) I've ever been on that bus it can whizz along at a great rate once it leaves town. Not this time. However, even when I went to the wrong department, I was only a few minutes late.

Came home to find Archie and JR relaxing in the back garden, where I joined them, though in the shade.

We were chatting about a recent river cruise booklet that had arrived, proclaiming '2nd person goes free!' This sounded like a very good deal. They obviously need to sell more cabins. JR suddenly nipped off to ring them, and came back half an hour later, triumphant! We've already checked in with Jan re those August dates, and she's happy to come back and look after Archie, especially in warmer weather where she can use the back garden more. What are we like? (Well, we need to make good use of that very expensive year's worldwide travel insurance, for one thing!)

(Another back garden photo, I'm afraid...)
