The famous waterfall
I am blipping early because I will be packing later ready to move to our next accommodation tomorrow.
This has been a very full day. We left at 0800 to drive to Sørvagur for a boat to Mykines. We spent all day on the island.
You cannot just wander here; you have to go with a local guide. He was interesting but the group, was far to big. We learned a lot about the island and the way of life. Sheep are farmed on the hilly slopes.
After a walk uphill, we came to an area riddled with puffin nests. We were asked to keep strictly to the narrow paths. At the moment, eggs have been laid and the young will hatch out next month. The puffins mainly seemed to be chilling out before the intensive parenting begins!
My image is another view of “our” tiny village but including the famous Snældsnsfjall. You can see that the weather has changed a bit, although it was still relatively mild.
I may add extras later; this was straight out of the iPhone!
Update - don’t miss the extras! The second was taken when I was trying to catch a puffin in flight! The first popped up over a grassy cliff edge and the fly was the unexpected bonus.
