Diary of an Edinburgher

Terror!

JR went to the gym, then went into town to sort out about her sunglasses receipt (they must have been expensive for all this bother) and to pick up some euros. I took Archie round the block, but did not go to the gym, though I had plenty of time...

We were taking Hazel to our new discovery in Bruntsfield, the Patron Saint pub, though we kept her guessing as to where we were going. We sat out in their wee back bit, as it was sunny, and it was a shame to be inside. They even turned off the speaker for me! We had a nice lunch of various small plates. And a chilled bottle of bubbles. Most pleasant. Archie didn't mind it because we were outside.

From there we dandered up the road to the Bruntsfield shops and were lucky enough to get seats outside at Decanter. They have a big bulldog called Terror (Extra) and Archie was a bit scared of him, but he's a big softie, I think - but then I'm not a wee dog... We actually met him on the Meadows when he was a cute puppy many years ago. A nice bottle of rosé was enjoyed and discussions centred on our up-and-coming Opera holiday. Needless to say, with two fashion victims, discussions about what to bring and what to wear dominated.

We eventually wandered home, but the others diverted to some shops, saying that they'd catch up with Arch and I, but of course they didn't. They went shopping!!

A fun day out.
