Gymnastics …Club championships

This morning we went to watch our twin grandchildren take part in their Gymnastics Club annual championships. It’s optional to take part and this is the first time they have done so. There were seven groups all doing routines at the same time with judges scoring. This photo was taken just before they started.
They had to do about five different routines so moved around after each. Most were floor exercises but they also had to do trampolining. It was all so well organised and the children all took it very seriously. They have been practising in their classes for weeks!

While the judges were sorting out scores some of the older gymnasts( in groups of 2 or 3)  did the routines that they will be performing for the National Championships and international competitions eg one in Turin next week. They were amazing.

So our little granddaughter came first in her age grouo…..she was so pleased and we were too. She had to go up to the 1, 2, 3 rostrums and was given a medal. Her brother was rather more chilled doing the routines and not quite so precise. But I think they enjoyed the experience.

Very hot in the car on the way home 32C so a quiet afternoon indoors watching tennis again!
Now I need to go to the allotment to water and then a quick dog walk when coppery.
