New bridge!

Except it's not actually new; it's been there for ages, tantalisingly promising a quicker route from Salford to the the more southern parts of Manchester's city centre.

It crosses the Irwell by Middleton Locks and takes you across to the recently opened Aviva Studio, "the home of Factory International". I suspect it's been the building of the studio that has prevented the bridge from opening sooner.

People have their doubts about this £210M build, seeing it as being focussed on a certain crowd, and not really for the people, and I can see where they're coming from. Time will tell, I guess.

Anyway, the Minx and I crossed it for the first time, this morning, enjoying a new view down the river (see Extra), and going into Manchester to do some last minute shopping for Abi's birthday, tomorrow.
