On Reflection
We had intended today to take the ferry from Fowey to Mevagissey, as it doesn't run out of season when we usually go to Cornwall. We were really looking forward to it. So we made our way down to the quay to catch the first one, only to find a sign saying it wasn't running today, due to mechanical issues. Grrr. So back to the car, and we drove there.
We had also intended to have some cod and chips from the Mevagissey restaurant we went to on our last visit, as they were really good. But cod wasn't on the menu! It was OK though as we found a local pub which did have cod. It was very good, and a well placed mirror gave me my main blip.
The advantage of travelling by car meant we could also call in to Charlestown on our way back to Fowey.
So, on reflection, the ferry being cancelled was not such a bad thing. And the pub was nicer than the restaurant we had in mind.
Both places were really busy, with loads more eateries than when we go out of season. Charlestown in particular was so different, with several cool looking bars and street food kiosks around the quayside.
Two more images from Mevagissey and two from Charlestown in the extras.
Crikey, only one more day to go down here now, it has flown by. Maybe we will do a boat trip tomorrow.
