Sea Otter Eludes Capture
Otter 841 is still at large, apparently continuing her unwarranted attacks on surfers off the coast of Santa Cruz, and gaining a global following on social media. You may recall reading about this dangerous mammal in this very journal a couple of weeks ago. 841 was born in captivity and released to the wild several years ago. Wildlife experts can track her via a radio transmitter, and have been trying to capture her in order to return her to captivity since she is dangerous to humans in her rogue state. She knows what boats and nets are, however, and so far has managed to swim free.
