Between My Tomatoes and Me
Mancil stopped by last evening and gave me some blip ideas. We talked about perspective, etc. I went out early to find today’s entry and was pleased. Turns out, I may retake those photos tomorrow or Friday. This spider had made its web inside my garden, preventing me from reaching my ripe tomatoes. What a beautiful web. Hubby used the kids’ butterfly net to scoop up the spider and relocate it to a tree away from the garden. Picked some nice tomatoes. I packed my suitcase for our trip and that is about it for my day. Hubby bought a few groceries to get us through the week. Later this afternoon, we picked up Parker from his new job. What a story. He rode his boat across the Patuxent yesterday in hopes of finding a job. His first stop was at the yachting center in Solomon’s. He asked if they needed help, they asked him a few questions and they hired him on the spot. He’s 15. Didn’t discuss salary, duties or anything else. He spent his first day taking motors out of boats and repairing them alongside a specialist. Still no idea about his salary but he loved every minute of his day. Maybe not being covered in fiberglass... Silly kid. Actually, last summer he worked awhile with a boat engine repairman so he has a tad of experience. Hubby and I so enjoy the uniqueness of each grandchild. He just sent the payment for Skylar’s first semester away at college. Praying on this; US college campuses are scary these days. Thanks for visiting. Stay safe. “The next time you see a spider web, please, pause and look a little closer. You'll be seeing one of the most high-performance materials known to man.” - Cheryl Hayashi
