Shiny Red Automobile

Plenty of those around at Classics Over Sands today. A classic car show held in Grange-over-Sands on a picturesque site overlooking Morecambe Bay.
Waking up to torrential rain this morning we were in two minds as to whether to go or not but, by the time we’d been into town for a coffee and a cake, there were signs it was fairing up a bit so, with waterproofs packed, we set off.
Once again, it seems the rain had been localised around Kendal. When we got to Grange, the roads were dry and the clouds were white rather than grey. No signs that it had been raining either, as the field was quite dry and firm under foot/wheel.
Lots of lovely cars to look at and admire - mainly classic British marques of the sixties. The Ford pickup with a Triumph chopper in the back looked stunning, though the overall effect was slightly spoiled by large Harley Davidson badges on the doors. If it was mine I’d have either sourced some Triumph stickers or put an H-D chop in the back!
The V12 E-Type engine had some useful info re firing order and tappet clearances on the air filter cover. But it would be a very brave home mechanic who attempted to adjust those clearances - just getting to the rocker covers would entail stripping off most of the inlet plumbing!
And Mrs C is giving me “the look” because she’d been trying to get a shot of all the Morgans lined up behind the red one. Waiting patiently for people to move out of her shot, she was less than impressed when I wandered in front of her just as she had a clear view. I beat a hasty retreat, but not before taking a cheeky picture!
