I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles

Mrs C received a large parcel in the post, containing a multitude of items. A foldable Panama hat and some small lotion bottles for our holiday. Sensible. Some stiff brushes designed to clean in awkward to reach places like behind taps. Practical. And this battery powered device that blows bubbles. No, me neither.
It was patiently explained to me that this device would come in handy for some future photography project, but I’m afraid I’d lost interest by then as my mind was trying to come to terms with the fact that all these diverse items had come from the same online store - who stocks a range like that?
The somewhat prosaic answer is that it’s from a site called Temu - a cheap and cheerful Chinese version of Amazon. I’d never heard of it, but a quick Google revealed mixed reviews - some saying it’s brilliant, others muttering dire warnings about missing parcels, unexpected price rises and the possibility of goods being produced by slave labour! Whatever, Mrs C got what she wanted and used a unique email address to cut down on any data gathering issues. We’ll gloss over any carbon footprint implications on the basis that even if these items had been available from a U.K. retailer, they would have been made in China anyway!
A very strenuous PT session this morning with plenty of cardio work. I am now somewhat knackered, so an afternoon’s relaxation is in order before I have to load the car and set off to the wilds of Millom for tonight’s gig. I don’t think I’ve been there for over a decade so will definitely be relying on the sat nav to get me to the right place!
