Blackberry Time

Cold, wet day, only 12 degrees mid morning and it didn’t get much warmer all day. Miserable weather for the last day of Summer. 

As it was feeling decidedly autumnal, K and I went out on a Blackberry gathering mission this afternoon. Unbelievably K had never been blackberrying before and as the rain got heavier the novelty quickly wore off for her, but we gathered enough fruit to each make a Blackberry and Apple Crumble, once we had stopped off at the supermarket on the way home to buy the apples.

A poignant afternoon; blackberrying is something Mum and I did together every year...
