Sit Spot

I’ve treated myself to a chair! For some time I’ve been feeling I would like to have a seat in the far corner of the garden. It catches the evening sun in the summer and autumn, and all year provides a pleasant perspective across the flowers and shrubs. I’ve been perching precariously on all manner of things before finally deciding to invest in a wooden seat. Now to enjoy using it.

It’s been another very warm day so I’ve not minded staying inside for most of it. This evening I walked to the allotment to harvest the latest fruit and veg. The pace of the growth after lots of rain, and now heat, is quite amazing. I came back with four courgettes, left two at the allotment for others and put two huge ones in the compost. These all came from one plant that I’d harvested three days ago.

Looking forward to cooler temperatures but none are in the forecast for this week.
