Bride and Groom !
This is what all the secrecy was about.
My sister and her partner had planned a joint 50th birthday party - with a 70's /80's theme to it. She told me on Wednesday evening that they were going to sneak off and get married in the morning.
They have been together for 20 years - through thick and thin - and have 2 beautiful, talented, friendly teenagers (whom I love to bits).
I was a bit gutted that she wouldn't let me come and see them get hitched, but they wanted a quiet 'do' in Leith (hence yesterdays blip!). I arranged for balloons/Champagne at their lunch after.
Their birthday/wedding do was superb ! No 3 was on a sleepover but the big girls looked very GLAM in their disco outfits - with their perfect makeup and false lashes (I looked like a man in drag!). Some great costumes, Chewbacca, Beatlejuice, Clockwork Orange, ALL the village people, Robert Smith (the Cure), Adam Ant, Bay watch Babes,Evil Kinevil, skater girls...the list goes on.
A great night and all the guests were shocked when Fiona and Gordon told them the surprise.
A great night (I was a bit emotional!), wonderful music (LOVE the 80's !) - super costumes and family (including those who didn't make it) that were always in our thoughts.
Congratulations to Fiona and Gordon (ps. sorry about the Budgie that Gordon has smuggled in his pants!!!).
