Bad Guy

The Panto cast has been announced, and I’ve got the part of chief baddie - Mustafa Rash! This will be my 30th year doing pantomime, but only my 29th actual show as we had to pull the one scheduled for January 2021 because of Covid. I’ve highlighted the script and will take it with me on holiday as I could do with getting the lines learnt as soon as possible. I need to learn some new songs for the band as well, but it’s easier to take a script away with me than it is a bass guitar and amp!
Though I probably could have got away with a small guitar - when I weighed the case at the gym today, it came in well under the 22kg limit. Even a few more shirts aren’t going to put it anywhere remotely near the maximum allowed.
“A Haunting in Venice” last night was very good, though quite different to the book it is based upon - unlike Mr Branagh’s previous Hercule Poirot portrayals, which stayed fairly true to the source novels. Not saying that’s a bad thing as there was a lot to enjoy as well as some quite scary moments. Agatha Christie’s estate were obviously happy with it as I noticed her grandson was credited as an executive producer.
And I’m sure that, at some point, Kenneth Branagh was also sat somewhere with a highlighted script, learning his lines. Though that’s where any similarity ends…
