Sunflowers from the allotment
This morning I cycled along the towpath and then made a quick trip to the allotment to do a bit of tidying and putting things in the compost bin as lots of crops are now over. The sunflowers have taken a bit of a battering with the wind and rain recently so I picked a big bunch. While cycling home with the sunflowers I had a few nice comments from people on the pavements!
Most of the Cosmos have also fallen over but are still flowering. We are waiting for a delivery of manure from the local stables so that we can spread it over part of the plot and then cover for the winter.
The family came to lunch and my husband cooked a delicious roast duck. It is interesting that a large duck is cheaper than a small joint of meat!
I planted a few more bulbs and sorted some things to take to the charity shop later in the week.
Now to watch some rugby.
