Hole In The Wall
The weather forecast with Storm Agnes on the way covered everything so by the time I’d walked to Pendennis Point I was beginning to wish I hadn’t worn a jacket.
The council has recently replaced all the hand rails on the sea from and access points at the ‘Point’ so we thought we would have a look around.
Today’s photo was taken from one of the redundant gun emplacements constructed during WWII. I have been down into them before, always clean and litter free with some opting to use the different concrete levels as seats.
I’d never noticed this opening before, almost certainly made at the same time. On the outside is a gulley cut down to the sea from this arch. I can only guess at what it was used for but I might be able to find out via the local historical society.
