Sunday Rest Up

We woke up early out of habit. It has rained off and on all day and the temps have certainly dropped. Hubby went down, started coffee and said his morning prayers. I had a note saying Marion and family were leaving the Frankfurt airport at 5:20 am. Fell asleep while reading. Received another note at 9:08 am saying they arrived home safely. Thank you Lord. What a long trip they had. After a leisurely breakfast, Sugar and I adjourned to the Rec Room with my Kindle. She loves to snuggle with Gram and the feeling is mutual. Such a sweet doggie. Speaking of pets, Kristen found an adorable black female kitten to be Dante’s companion. She will get to take her home in a few days. After lunch, I helped my sister peel and cut up apples for canning. Our BIL cored them. Their trees were loaded this year. They use no pesticides on them. They canned 10 quarts and have probably the same amount to can tomorrow. Hubby worked on his puzzle book. We washed all the guests’ linens so another job is done. We will set up the rooms for Parker and his parents’ November visit. We do enjoy sharing this little piece of “almost Heaven” with visitors. Hope your weekend was as enjoyable as ours. Stay safe. Thanks so much for your visit. “My little dog. A heartbeat at my feet.” - Edith Wharton
