Day 4
Another ferry today…3 in 4 days is enough of that…we headed home “to the barn” today. But we made quick stop on the way at Port Ludlow, since we had time and we haven’t been there since our sailing days… our son played his first game of golf there …and went on to become a PGA Golf Pro. it seemed different now from how we remember it. It’s a place, a community and a resort with lots of condos… The blip is the totem that stands at the point carved from a 700 year old fallen red cedar in 1995 by David Boxley and renovated in 2015 by him. The white men on it are the lumber mill owners. Here’s a link if you want to know more. David Boxley is Tsimshian from Metlakatla, Alaska, and lives in Seattle. (We have a print by his son David Boxley)
Hood Canal Bridge and then the ferry to Edmonds where we had another quick stop at a museum right by the ferry that we have never visited..Cascadia Art Museum, (extra) kind of an odd place with historical Northwest art.
Home before the traffic got bad. Tired. Missed my naps. But it was a good short trip ..it’s beautiful country ….and we’re happy to have found the golf cart….that’s the first step.
Forgot my delicious leftover smoked salmon pasta from last night’s dinner in the frig in the motel last night…darn.!! But H forgot the 1/2 bottle of wine he left in the frig at the resort the first night as well! I guess if that’s the worst that happened, it’s a success.
