A Frabjous Day...

.... Yesterday we went to a Nature Reserve. 
We walked for miles. We drank in our beautiful surroundings but the only bird we saw was a robin. (A lovely robin, admittedly. We love robins). Really though? One robin??
 
Today... We went to a different Nature Reserve and saw SO MUCH!!!
I could have given you sharper images than this one but, they would have been egrets, goldcrests, cormorants catching fish, red squirrels (I know!!! What joy!) or rats. (There are always rats). 
I was, admittedly, on somewhat of a red squirrel high when we paused over a bridge to take a photo of some ducks. There was a flash of turquoise and orange. When one has already had the privilege of seeing the jewel colours of the kingfisher in flight, and felt the 'magical 
buzz', there's no mistaking it.
I was not expecting to see one today, much less watch it catch fish. 

It's not the sharpest image but, what a day!

My cup runneth over :-)
