Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

A wee bit of a rush this morning - JR just went for one gym session in the local gym, while I had to get up rather earlier than I prefer, as we were to meet my Irish cousin in town at 10am, and Archie needed a walk too.

But we got to their hotel right on time. My cousin had two friends with her, and we took them to a nearby posh hotel which had just put up their Christmas decorations, so the visitors were were delighted about.

We had a great catch up and chat about holidays, recent and pending. Then the two friends went off to the bus station to meet family coming from Aberdeen for the day, JR went home to take Archie out, and to make soup and apple crumble for lunch tomorrow, and my cousin and I went to the St James Quarter, had another coffee (and cake) and reminisced about long gone family members. My mum and her mum were the best of friends, and in those days (50s & 60s) you always just stayed with relatives for holidays.

I then left to come home, as they were all going for a late lunch (or early dinner) at the Dome, so that the Aberdonians could catch the bus home again.

In the evening we finished watching the Beckham thing on Netflix. Which should really be titled 'David Beckham's 100 Best Goals' YAWN...

7,307 steps! No wonder I’m tired!
