Happy Birthday Madison

A small party at Chris’s place for Maddy’s first birthday. She will not remember the day but she enjoyed all the attention and different sorts of food including this “smash cake” Not heard of these cakes before . It seems you’re supposed to smash your hand down into the creamy frosting which then gets smeared over everywhere.

Her presents kept all the older children amused for ages, stackers, sorters, walkers, push along toys, books and a music mat proved very popular.

We’ve had several days of good weather. Today was very different, cloudy and overcast with a bit of drizzle which gave way to heavy and persistent rain this evening.

More walking and more talking today
