A Satisfying Day
We were up, dressed and breakfast eaten in time to arrive at the sports complex by 8:30. The first game started at 8:50 and the temps had warmed from 32°F to a toasty (not) 37°F. I wore two layers of clothes, my heavy coat, warm gloves and hat. Hubby, my son and DIL were not as prepared. But they survived. It was not a totally fun day for the boys overall. This was a tournament with participants from all over the East coast and the competition was tough. We lost the first and third games and won the second. We left the field around 1:30. We stopped for gas, to get batteries for our BIL and to take Skylar to dinner. I am glad we get up here as often as we do; she is beyond homesick. At home, Brooklyn’s team tied their opponents in a 0-0 game, her last of the season. We hope to get to my sister’s by 10:15 pm. Hubby will have driven 350 miles today. At least the scenery has been nice, it was sunny all day and we were with the ones we love. There were lovely farms around every corner, some Amish, others not. We drove through the city of Harrisburg and other smaller towns in Pennsylvania, northern Maryland and West Virginia. Traffic was mostly light and that always makes a long trip easier. Hoping you enjoyed your weekend. Stay safe, especially my US friends. This is the heaviest travel week of the year. Thanks for the visit. I will catch up with your journals soon. “Surely, two of the most satisfying experiences in life must be those of being a grandchild and/or a grandparent.” — Donald A. Norber
