Sure Gonna Miss You

Millie and I slept in while hubby got ready for his dermatologist appointment. The doc froze a couple precancerous spots and he’ll continue to be checked every three months. We needed a few staple groceries; hubby picked them up. Later, he was seen by his audiologist. As we thought, his hearing loss is worse. He will be getting new hearing aids with newer technology. My sister and BIL dropped off hubby’s ATV and items we left behind, including our Christmas ham. I am still missing my new rain coat. They picked up the tubs and other items we and Jamie brought home for them. Everything has been put away, all the new gifts have been entered in my spreadsheet and my home is neat and clean again. Ahhh. We are ready for decorating and wrapping gifts. Hubby actually started wrapping today. After Kim got home from school, we went over to say good-bye to Trek. He was so happy to see us. Mancil had to calm him down as their biggest fear is that his cancerous leg will break. We gave him treats and chatted for a while, holding back tears until we got home. Really hated having to leave him. They will make the appointment for tomorrow. They cooked him a big steak dinner. Mancil said he did everything recommended to minimize Trek’s chance of getting cancer and other diseases for 11 years. He is having such a hard time with the result. They have no plans to get another dog; the end is simply too hard. I made a pot of vegetable beef soup for tonight’s dinner and meatloaf for tomorrow. Will have less cooking to worry about the rest of the week. The horse caused the buggy and truck accident yesterday. For some reason, it reared up and went right into the path of the truck. A juvenile was driving the buggy and unable to control the horse. Two people in the buggy sustained life threatening injuries. The infant and other passenger were taken to the hospital also as a precaution since they were thrown out of the buggy. How sad. Sure hope the news from your end is happier. Stay safe. Happy news: We woke up to the lawn covered in snow. It all melted but it was pretty while it lasted. Schools had a two hour delay. Parker used his free time to take his driving test and passed. Another grand will be on our dangerous roads…. Thanks for your visit. "How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard." –Winnie The Pooh
