A ride on the Santa Special

Today we went for the fourth time on the wonderful Epping OngarRailway's Santa Special steam train We picked up a heritage bus from Ongar to North Weald and boarded a train which had the best Christmas decorations yet.  This year Violet was still entranced and Stella-Rose was old enough to take part, although she was not so keen on Mr Scrooge even if he did give her a chocolate penny!
We returned to Ongar where we had a lovely supper at The Two Brewers pub and finished off the evening by visiting Mr MC's brother and my sister-in-law who are currently hosting a number of young people: son and fiancée nephew fiancée and their young son and not forgetting Otis the lurcher who is a sweetheart!
