Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Gym visit (JR), walk round the block (moi) and plenty of sitting around today. Poor JR, she came home with a wound. The bike, or part of it, had fallen on her forearm as she was adjusting it. A bit of gash, and skin off.  I knew it was dangerous going to the gym.But she has taken it slowly today.

The weather cleared up a bit in the afternoon, so I took Archie out. We stopped off in Victor Hugo's cafe down by the Meadows. I thought it'd be mobbed, but only two other folk there. Archie tried to drag me past. We then went across the Meadows. And there was nobody else there either. Wonder why...

It was windy, and mizzly, but Archie ran about like a puppy, chasing sticks, which he never brings back, and his interest wanes after a couple of throws. We cut straight across the grass, the shortest route home - I was puggled.

We then spent the afternoon by the fire, with Christmas piano music on SpotifyLove it. We all had a lazy afternoon, I go down a rabbit hole on Instagram. there are some really funny things on there! Also looked back on all the Christmasses on blip. I'd forgotten about the Christmas Archie wasn't well, wouldn’t get out of his bed, and we rang the vet, but he rallied round and we cancelled the vet visit, and probably saved £100s…

Hazel, who has her son from London visiting, rang to invite us to pop over for a glass of fizz. Hamish, Hazel's grand-dog was also there. He's a sturdy French bulldog who is allowed up on the sofa. Hazel turned a blind eye. They're planning to take Hamish to the beach for the first time in his life. That’ll be fun.

Big day tomorrow! Hope all blippers have a nice day.
