A good night out
This is a collage of our night out with the daughters. That’s #2 daughter, who is about to be 49 with me on the left and #3 with Mr C on the right. The tasting menu has gone up by £6 since November. However it was worth it - all was delicious. I even had a bite of the duck - just to check! We decided against the wine flight so #2 daughter and I were given 3 different whites to try before settling on a bottle of Italian - Mr C was driving and # 3 teaching today so #2 and I had more than our share. She and I also had a glass of red later. We met at #3’s house where Ella played Happy Birthday on her ukulele and Nathaniel told us about winning a prize that day - someone had come to school to do a Lego car building competition. After designing the car they had to do some wiring in it and write a computer program so that it could move. Despite spending longer on the building theirs was the first to get the wiring right and make it go so they got a gift of stationery.
Today I enjoyed the literature class in the morning and this afternoon have been experimenting with another recipe from the Anna Jones book. It’s chick peas and cauliflower in a peanut, ginger, chilli, soya sauce, vinegar, garlic, spring onion and red pepper sauce. I might have been a bit heavy handed with the chilli.
Tonight friend Jo is doing FaceTime. She’s needing radiotherapy as well as chemo so she’ll be fed up as she had travel plans.
We have a quiet weekend ahead so I might go to town on the bus to the Laing to see the Yevonde exhibition.
