Another Family Sunday

Hubby was up and out the door by 6:00 am. He was helping with our community breakfast the Knights’ host every month. It is also the 90th birthday of a former parish priest so he was the guest of honor today. He and hubby have always hit it off well with their similar corny sense of humor. Someone came in to relieve hubby; he made it to the game by halftime. My mother needed more Ensure so I dressed and stopped to get it before Brooklyn’s game. She had fun today with some awesome defensive moves, tons of rebounds, ball steals and at least six points. The coach let his second string play a lot to level the score a bit; Brooklyn sat out the entire fourth quarter. We won 44-27. We headed to our mother’s after the game. Kim shared her homemade vegetable beef soup and donuts with us and included a bowl for our mother. My sister and BIL brought lumpia, pansit and dumplings down for lunch. Our other sister and her hubby were already at Momma’s playing cards. We had enough for everyone; I even heated up all the soup to share. My sister and I cleaned up the lunch mess. Then I worked on the puzzle I blipped last week. Hubby and our BIL cleaned up the mess from removing the roots of a large tree that had died in the front yard. Our BIL had a bit more work on our mother’s pump. They emptied her freezer in the shed, moved its contents to another freezer and then unplugged it to defrost. They will clean it tomorrow when they go back down. They noticed a broken window in the shed and found a temporary fix to keep out the rain. We let the crew get back to their card game. We had a very nice visit; that’s what Sundays are for. Hubby and I went grocery shopping and my sister and BIL ran some errands. Hubby has had an earache for days. He finally went to urgent care while I put everything away. He has an infection in his eardrum. Glad he got it checked before we left town. We finally get to sit down for the evening. Sure hope your day was just a pleasant. Stay safe. Thanks for your visit. “What is important is family, friends, giving back to your community, and finding meaning in life.” — Adrian Grenier
