A quiet day

The road alongside our row of houses has been unusually quiet today as the road further up, which had been on a phased traffic light system supposedly to allow road repair works to take place (but none had been going on), has now been closed altogether. This photo was taken at around 4pm so whatever work had been going on today had already finished. Of course, despite (for once) pretty good signage alerting oncoming drivers in good time to the road closure and signposting diversions, some drivers seem to think they know better. It is then both entertaining to see them executing 3 point turns up the road to get back to the diversion signs. The road repairs are only to one side and it is equally bad on the other side, so I don't doubt there'll be more accidents to come and the need for another road closure for drivers to blithely ignore.
