Something a bit different for tonight’s entertainment - Tap Factory at the Grand Theatre in Lancaster.
We’ve seen similar shows in the past - Tap Dogs and Stomp spring to mind - but nothing like this for a good many years. However this show had been quite heavily advertised on my FB feed recently, so l looked to see what seats were available and found there were some reasonably good ones left. With nothing else planned this week, I reckoned it was worth a punt.
And what a great show it turned out to be. A combination of tap dancing, rhythmic drumming and gymnastics, all performed by some incredibly fit - and talented - young men. The whole thing was laced with a great deal of humour - no dialogue, but a lot of Chaplinesque visual gags. My picture was taken right at the end of the show, whilst the cast were taking their bows, and you can see that energy levels are still high.
A most enjoyable night out - especially on a cold and wet Thursday - and it was good to see something different to our usual fare of rock bands or musicals. I did say that we were going to try different things this year, and this definitely ticked one of those boxes. Heartily recommended if you get the chance to see it.
