For the family

By RonaMac

Another busy day

We went to the Royal Derby Hospital this morning, my turn to be the patient today. The purpose was to transfer my care to one of their cardiology teams, having previously been under the care of the Lincoln service.

It was a 30 minute drive to get there for 9am,  it took 30 minutes to get a space in one of the car parks, we were warned in the appointment letter that it would take ages, then 10 minutes to find the clinic, it is an enormous hospital!!!

The ECG and consultation took all of 15 minutes, things seem to be well organised and I’m home with a plan for the next investigation and change to my tablets. The consultant explained that he was wearing a mask as he had a cold. It seemed strange, but I’d forgotten how it hinders communication. It will be interesting to see what he looks like when I have my next appointment.

Home via Dobbies garden centre for coffee and cake, a freebie for my birthday, then home by 12.30. I was so tired, that I slept off and on for most of the afternoon.
