Waterfall

It was a brighter start to the day this morning.  While I was in the kitchen I noticed that the light outside was brightening and a few minutes late there was some pink shades in the sky.  A couple of us took the opportunity to take a shot of the view from the property overlooking the beach.  After breakfast we decided to head for Hushinish on North Harris however we were quickly distracted by a waterfall located close by.  

We were then back on the road and as we chatted it became apparent that my friend was suffering from pain in her tooth.  We decided to head for Tarbet which was on our route and see if we could get something from a chemist.  As we entered the town we spotted a postman who advised that there were no chemists but that the local doctors may be able to help.  At the health centre there was also a dentist reception and my friend spoke to both receptionists.  They were so helpful and friendly.  As the local dentist was on holiday we were given two numbers to ring in Stornaway and we had an emergency appointment for later that afternoon.

We started back on the road to Hushinish but the weather didn’t look good and the road was very narrow and hilly so decided to abandon a quick recee of it.  As we were driving off the road we stopped to take a quick photo in the rain and spotted the postman we had spoken to earlier.  He was happy to know that his information put us on the right track for sorting my friends tooth problem.  As we were heading to Stornaway we spotted an old house by the side of a loch and stopped to take a photo.  We were not surprised when the sheep headed over to us.   We arrived early at the Dental Hospital and we very surprised that my friend was seen early.  She had an Xray taken and advised how to treat her condition.  Surprisingly there was no fee to pay.  We were very impressed with her treatment and the friendliness of all the people we met.  She was much relieved to know that it was not an infection and we had a relaxed journey back home.

We had a treat starter with our meal this evening.  Smoked salmon and hot smoked salmon that was caught locally in Eig.  It was delicious.
