Joy To Behold

On a day when I didn't think I would see much in the way of wildlife, I was delighted to see the return of a pair of wood ducks. Followed in short order by an eagle circling overhead and my first sighting this year of a kingfisher. The eagle was just too far away for a clear shot.

I'm partial to a wood duck, they are so colourful, so that's my choice today. This was the only frame where the pair where together and unfortunately there was a branch in front of the female. Although I removed it in PS, the area around her is a little hazy.

In the distance, I heard the haunting call of a loon.
