Before the Latest Storm
We got up before today’s rain started. I went out right away to get a shot of these tulips. My gardens help keep me sane in these dark and troubling times. We are under a tornado watch until 7:00 pm; it’s really not been as bad as they predicted though. Hubby spent much of the day packing for his annual Merlfest tent camping trip at the end of the month. We will get home from WV only a few days before he leaves for NC. I did several little jobs around the house. Each room looks nice and neat as a result. It is easy to get behind on paperwork and let other items accumulate. I called my mother to check on her. She has a tendency to leave her land line off the hook. Thankfully her cell was charged so I knew she was ok. I made rice to go with lunch. We are waiting for the next downpour that should arrive momentarily. My sister invited us out for lunch but being already chilled while inside deterred me from wanting to go out in this nasty weather. Hubby is napping with Millie and I could easily join them. It is hard to have much energy on such a dark grey day. Our evening should be quiet; we have plenty of leftovers to heat. Hope you are able to stay warm and dry. Stay safe. Yesterday, I mentioned about not wanting to go to a restaurant in the area where Parker played lacrosse. A man was critically shot sitting in a restaurant only a few miles from our neighborhood last night; guess it can happen anywhere. I am so fed up with the lawlessness and disregard for human life in our country. My sister and I say we are happy to be old so we won’t have to put up with it much longer. Sorry for the rant. Thank for dropping by. “Daffodils blossom and tulips jostle to the front of the stage in April. I love these early perennials – they may be more modest but they nearly all have that one special quality that a plant needs to transform your affections from admiration to affection to charm.” ~ Monty Don
