Toads crossing!

This is taken alongside Ham Common where there is a big pond which toads use! There is another area very near the gates to Richmond Park, part of Church Road, which is actually closed for a month or so.
Volunteer patrol officers apparently go out at night on this road to pick up toads and ensure they are not squashed by passing vehicles.

I went to the allotment this morning and did a bit of ground preparation…getting rid of weeds! I also put up one tripod for runner beans while the ground is wet and easy to get the bamboo poles in. However I will not be planting the beans anytime soon.  Just a few leeks left to dig up but the rhubarb is looking quite good.
