Diary of an Edinburgher

Bin Find number 756

More rain this morning, Archie declined the offer of a stroll round the block. When it stopped a bit later, we popped out. But it was dodgy all day, so I told Elizabeth to take a rain check - no need to get wet. Anyway, Archie wasn't expecting her on a Monday. So she took him out later.

JR went into town on the bus to get something vital. She's feeling a wee bit off colour - sore head, a few aches, perhaps she's doing just too much on these every day gym sessions...

I've been bombarded all day with videos, photos and accounts of this morning's game drive from Abi. What a corker it was. A herd of elephants strolling along the track in front of them, with a teeny baby in their midst. They just followed them for ages They also saw the lion cubs and mother playing together, when who should wander into view but a family of unsuspecting warthogs...The lions immediately formed a ring around them and all charged at the same time. They caught a baby wartie. But imagine witnessing that. They've also been very close to a family of cheetahs, lolloping around just beside the truck. They've seen much more than we did on our visit to the same area last year. But we don't mind, we've had a couple of brilliant safaris before, this is their first. And they’re already planning the next one!

There is so much stuff left at the bins - even more than usual at this time of year. A lot of students will be finishing and leaving their flats - so they just dump stuff at the bins. Mind you, this wee sofa bed would be rather handy and looks in good nick...
