Summer Tirricks
A fine day, fairly cloudy with warm sunny spells, and a lovely calm evening, eek, midgies have been out.
Up at 5am, back to work on an early shift. I've been working on the check-in desk all day, and a busy day of passengers. All flights on time. An evening dellin the garden. I've turned over a flowerbed that's overgrown, time to start again. Mam came by, we headed out walkies with Sammy. Early to bed again.
I nipped out on my morning break, I wasn't alone while eating my snack. The tirricks (Arctic Tern) returned home while I away, and by the looks of it, there's huge numbers compared to last year. They were busy feeding in the bay near their nesting grounds, and looked like they've got plenty of feed. Hopefully they'll have another successful breeding year. Fast birds to capture with only my phone, another reason I need to get a new camera. A tirrick flying overhead, Grutness, Sumburgh.
