Tantallon Castle
This ruin stands on cliffs above the Firth of Forth looking out towards Bass Rock, home to the largest gannet colony in the world. It was the stonghold of the Earls of Douglas and saw an awful lot of action over the years. It was besieged by James IV and James V without much damage but in 1651 Oliver Cromwell's army besieged it and did so much damage that it was abandoned.
It's an impressive place but I was a bit disappointed with my pictures as it's not possible to get enough distance to make the sort of image I'd have liked to have made. I've put up a couple of extras to give you more of an idea of the place.
