Evening Reflections

It wasn’t the best of days, but it was milder than of late.  There was rain, quite a lot of rain.  I pottered, doing a few chores while contemplating a run.  Just as I was about to head out, a heavy shower came over, so I delayed my departure until it had passed.  When the sun came out, ever optimistic , I hung out some washing and then headed out for my run.  I ran over eight miles in rain and sunshine, so I did keep drying off after getting soaked.  All in all it was quite a nice run, even though I came home looking like a drookit rat.

Around about lunchtime, I got two messages from friends in Edinburgh, and both mentioned horrendous rain.  About half an hour later, the tremendous rain hit East Lothian.  I was glad I wasn’t out in it, but my washing was!    It seemed like a good time for lunch.  Once it had passed over, I popped out to the Post Office and the supermarket, bumping into two friends, and had long chats with them both.  I eventually got home – and had managed to stay dry – and I then had to pack my bag for a weekend away.  Meanwhile BB was getting himself for his school prom.  He was looking very smart.

We dropped him off at the pre-prom party and we headed off to Loch Tay.  We drove through rain and sunshine, with some horrendous rain around Lochearnhead.  Thankfully we didn’t have much further to go.  We got to our destination with just enough time to grab a gin and tonic with friends and then head to dinner.  After dinner there was a quiz, with regular football updates.  Our table did quite well at the quiz, until it came to adding up the scores and we missed off a round.  Once we did a re-count we think we were probably second.  We headed to bed around midnight, knowing there would be a relatively early start in the morning.

A friend sent me a load of photos from the pre-prom party, and given there was very poor mobile coverage, it was a miracle that I managed to download them.  They all looked amazing.  I hope they have had a fabulous evening.

This is a view across Loch Tay, after the rain stopped.  It was very calm, but a bit gloomy.  The extra is looking down the loch. the second extra is prom boy!
