Diary of an Edinburgher

Copenhagen Day 2

What a day! We must have walked miles, but with many sit downs. And we've worked out how to use the buses and found a bus to take us home.

What a beautiful city! I think last night we were in an 'edgy' area with lots of graffiti, didn't see so much of it today. We have a fantastic street near us, full of cafes and pubs and crazy shops... and graffiti. But still saw lots of full arm and leg tattoos, lads and lassies, old and young. But maybe it's just the same in the UK, but we're covered up more.

I did not see a big black rubbish bin anywhere!! And there are so many babies! Babies in little carriages in front of bikes with crash helmets on and dummies in their mouths. I'm never fast enough to get a passing blip, though.

We came upon a groovy three piece jazz combo and watched them for a while. But still being unsure of the money, we scarpered before they came round with the hat for donations.

Popped into the supermarket on the way home, and getting up those four flights of stairs, with shopping, is not something I'd like to do every day, but I did avail myself of the thoughtful (though not as thoughtful as a lift) little fold-down chairs at every level.

My blip today had to be the classic Copenhagen one- Nyhavyn. It was hoachin'. We sat on the shady side, looking over at the coloured buildings and watching the goings on for ages. This view, without the boats, was intriguing, because the buildings looked like cardboard cutouts.

I'm cream cracked, aching legs, sunburnt and happy. I must say, it's lovely to come back to a comfy flat (once you get up the stairs) with all mod cons. Listening to my iPod on the posh Bose speaker. I need to go and lie down and pant.

PS The blue bike from yesterday, today has a wheel missing!
