Sweening Burn
A windy day, dry and cloudy. January this evening, with gales and rain. Awful summer continues.
Up early, washing out on the line and then walkies with Sammy. We popped by Madeline's for a cuppa. Another walk before lunch. An afternoon dellin (digging) in the garden. Nipped down to Laura's to see the kittens, and drop off dug up flowers. A walk with the dogs after a cuppa. Working in the shop this evening. It was busy until the Scotland match started, then eased off. Feet up, fire on, not a night for moving again.
After a brisk walk in the hill, I followed down the burn, heading back to the car. As I came along, I came into the small woods, and passed by this beautiful wooded garden. There's not many wooded gardens around Shetland, but we do have a few. Something like this is my ultimate dream, especially on home soil, and the burn running through. It might not be so pleasant on a still summer's night, when it's plagued with midgies. The South Sweening House garden, Sweening, Vidlin.
P.s. the neighbouring wooded garden house is currently for sale, if you fancy a nosy.
