Boxland Bonus!
Another action packed day, with the bonus of meeting Rob, an awesome blipper who lives in Copenhagen!
We did a bit of supermarket shopping in the morning and carted the goodies up four flights - did I mention we had no lift? - but one of the goodies was a budget box of what looks like own brand Magnums, so I will be trying one of them out very soon, once I recover from the day's exertions.
We bought some wee cakes to take to Rob, hoping he would provide the coffee, which he did. We had a great old chinwag, and he suggested we take a walk to the nearby park, which we did. And it was the most beautiful park ever!
It had man-made lake/pond/river which was set out in circles, with wee bridges over, and rowing boats going right round. It was huge. Lots of herons and ducks and geese. There were little wooden ramps for the ducks to walk up and get out of the lake/pond/river. How thoughtful.
We wandered back to Boxland and had a beer with Rob. Two young visitors to Rob's gallery came to sit with us. Emma was from Aberdeen and Robert was Swedish. They have just moved to Copenhagen with Robert's work. Robert has a Canon EOS 5D Mark 111! I was allowed to hold it and take a few shots. *sigh* I think Rob and I might have persuaded him to become a blipper!
The young folk departed on their bikes to cycle home half way across the city and Rob forced us to have another beer, so we chilled and had another chinwag. It's great to have a local to answer all our wee questions about life in Denmark. We had a hyggeligt* time, and hope to meet up again next week.
On the way to Boxland, we walked past this huge area boarded off. A lot of it has great art work. This lady explained to me that there had been a very old chestnut tree that the locals had tried to save, but it was chopped down to make way for the new metro line. So what I thought was a big Malteser, was, in fact, a chestnut... I told her I liked her cardigan and asked if I could take her photograph. Tak!
* bloomin' nice, chilled, relaxed. May or may not involve alcohol.
