Another Day of Fun and Frolic
In anticipation of going back to town, the whole crew got up, got ready, had breakfast and headed to the truck. Our first stop was in Wheeling. West Virginia has built these “WV Swings” throughout the state. There are at least three in our area. While looking for a place to park, we discovered they were having a Grecian celebration at the Greek Orthodox Church. It was time for lunch, so we joined in. I am a picky eater so while the others enjoyed wings of Icarus, Moussaka, Spanakopita, Souvlaki and Greek fries, I had two bowls of rice pudding, all delicious. My sister and I found a few treasures in their craft room. We all enjoyed the experience. There will be an Italian Festival this weekend so we’ll be back in Wheeling on our last day of this trip. Then we went to find the swing by the Ohio River. You see we were successful. We were near Center Market so we strolled through the artist exhibits. Our BIL needed two railroad ties for his front garden. We shopped at a few stores in Moundsville before winding through the ridges to get back to the farm. We had to drive through heavenly rain showers. We are making Italian sausages, a zucchini dish and other sides for dinner. Another great day is in the books. Hope your day was just as interesting. Stay safe. Thanks for visiting. “The sun doesn't always shine in West Virginia, but the people do.” - John F. Kennedy
