Beauty - Two Ways
We had rain early this morning, so thankful. There is finally water in the creeks and streams again. I went out to photograph my sister’s hibiscus before the sun came out. We had breakfast and did laundry. We started gathering our items for our trip home. Tomorrow will be cleaning day and we hope to go to town on Saturday so time is getting short. My sister wants to make engraved memorial markers for my children to honor their father. She and I walked the creek looking for hard, nicely shaped river rocks. We found quite a selection. One had a surprise for me. When I lifted it, a brown snake slithered into the creek. Of course, I screamed-do not like snakes. We came upon a large downed tree with these delicate fungi “flowers.” Thought I’d pair it with the hibiscus, both of which have such detailed petals. The guys had been riding while we “shopped.” They came to help us gather the rocks into our side by side. Hubby lost his footing and landed in the muddy creek face first. What an adventure we always have. We visited the neighbors until time to make dinner. This one takes all four of us: low country shrimp and sausage boil with potatoes, onions and corn on the cob. It was tasty and we have enough leftovers for a second meal. The temps have been wonderful this week. Hubby and I have not needed air conditioning either night. It is perfect weather to sit outside in the evenings. That’s where I will go to join the others as soon as I publish this. Our cell service has been patchy. For awhile, I worried I would even get this typed, kept getting the frustrating spinner. Hope you had an adventure today. Stay safe.
