Another nice-ish morning, and another incredibly busy day at work. This week has been mad. Lots of people are on leave, and there is just too much going on.
We were supposed to have a team lunch today, to welcome a new team member, expect he ended up being off. The other reason for the lunch was to celebrate a colleague about to go off on paternity leave, but the baby was born yesterday, so that didn’t work out either. On top of that, three others were unable to make it for one reason or another, so in the end only five us went for lunch. It was lovely. The one male felt a bit outnumbered – but he enjoys holding court – and loves to complain when tease him – but he takes it all in good humour. I had to rush back to the office, as the lunch had been arranged around my schedule, as I was covering meetings for my boss, who is on annual leave.
The afternoon then just disappeared again, and I ended up working late and did not get everything done that I needed to do.
Just as I got to my bus stop tonight it started to rain, but didn’t really come to anything. It has continued to look like it would rain at any moment all evening, but no rain so far. I went out for some steps after tea and it was very muggy.
BB was working today, but he didn’t have much to report.
Ths is a view over Waverley Station, not long before I left the office tonight. You can see how grey it was.
