Birdhouse In Your Soul (Remastered)

Just over a year ago Mrs C acquired a new birdhouse from a chap who made them as a bit of a hobby out of scrap pieces of wood. I blipped it at the time, saying how well made it seemed to be.
What I hadn’t spotted - but what became only too obvious once the winter rains set in - was that he had used a piece of chipboard for the feeding table. Naturally - and inevitably - once this got wet, it started to delaminate and eventually toppled off the stand sometime in January.
Fast forward to today and I finally had time to do something about it. I managed to find a solid piece of wood of roughly the right size. A quick whizz with the circular saw and several coats of satin black paint later, and reassembly commenced. I put a few more screws in than there were originally, so it should be more stable than before. Certainly looks ok, as you can see from the inset photo.
And, hopefully, it will still look as good after the next winter…
