McNabs Island

The weather cooperated for our visit to McNabs Island today. This morning it was sunny and hot. Not as humid as yesterday and it was nice when we were close to or on the water. The boat was able to drop us off at the end of the island where the fort is, then we walked to the main docking area. That was much better, it gave us a chance to see more of the island without walking from one place and having to return on the same trail.

After we got back some of us went for a late lunch and sat on the patio of the restaurant. Fortunately we finished eating before the rain started.
All in all, a nice day out getting to know a few more people.

I had a nap after I came home, then my phone rang and it woke me up.

Many years ago when I was still married, the ship that the ex was posted to had a family day, and they took us for a cruise around the Halifax harbor. I ended up getting sea sick, and for the longest time I would not get on any kind of boat again. Over the past couple of years I have started going on boats again, first the ferry between Halifax and Dartmouth, then the ferry coming back from PEI, the Tancook Island ferry and now the boat that took us to McNabs Island. I have not been sea sick on any of them, and all of them are different sized boats. I'm glad now that it must have been a one time thing and I have now overcome my fear of going on any sort of boat ride.
